Many people struggle to stick to a restrictive keto diet because they have to give up on their favorite foods. The food they miss the most are not allowed on keto due to the high sugar that could throw them off track and sabotage their health goals. Cakes, pies, cookies, chocolate, ice cream are among the most craved items, and their versatility in various dishes make them hard to replace.
One of the key challenges of a keto diet is finding substitutes to sugary, carb-heavy desserts that are generally replaced with low-carb alternatives but it's just not the same. Often, people try to adapt with these alternatives, but they still miss the taste and texture of the real thing. They feel deprived as they have to deny themselves the food they used to love. They miss the ease of having a slice of cake whenever they want, or the convenience of grabbing a sugary snack now and then. There’s often a mental struggle that comes with the "forbidden food" mindset.
Sweets are a big part of our emotional connection to food due to their ability to trigger brain chemistry which reinforces the desire to eat more. The brain controls the appetite and is a primary factor in the psychological comfort felt from eating. Consuming sweets releases that "feel-good" hormone which temporarily boosts the mood and leads to feelings of well-being. If you're on a restrictive diet like keto, however, it can feel like you're missing out on all the delicious, sweet treats, and constantly worrying about what you can’t eat.
In her book Keto Desserts, Kelley Herring makes it possible to enjoy rich, satisfying desserts while sticking to your health goals, all without the feeling of deprivation that comes with dieting. The book contains a variety of delicious keto-friendly recipes made with high-quality ingredients that adhere to the principles of keto. By creating keto-friendly versions of your beloved sweets, the book allows you to fully savor those treats while not sacrificing your progress or sticking strictly to "boring diet food."
Through the book, Kelley Herring guides you on this ketogenic (keto) journey high in nutrients that stimulate satiety and sustained energy. The recipes prioritize natural ingredients free of all the artificial additives that typically come with traditional desserts. Great for health-conscious individuals looking to reduce sugar, or anyone trying to manage their weight, the recipes quite succeed in satisfying a sweet tooth while staying in line and maintaining health.

Sounds like a great book. I've been trying to cut down on my own sugar intake. No more sweet poison for me, I'm on the hunt for better alternatives. I'm good at substituting.
White sugar causes disastrous health problems in the long run. Definitely a dangerous thing to stay away from.
I can't have too much sugar so these desserts recipes would probably be the perfect options for me
